Motion-activated light switches are installed both at the corporate office and warehouse locations in an effort to save energy. Special ceiling fan units keeps the warehouse climate moderate, thus conserving energy needed to run air conditioners. A special window film was installed at our corporate office to reduce heating and air conditioning needs. Trees were also planted around the building to create shade and reduce thermal energy usage.
Five years ago, a mandatory “RE-USE and RE-LABEL” policy was initiated on all “bulk boxes” for use in storage in the warehouse cutting down corrugate trash by over 10%. 55 gallon drums are also re-used or recycled instead of disposed to reduce waste output. Reports historically printed for the sales team, management and brokers are now sent via email cutting down paper usage significantly
